Sant Jarnail Singh Ji


Sant Jarnail Singh Jee Khalsa Bhindranwale was the most determined & great general of the 20th century’s great General who is the heart of the Sikh youth at that time and in current time also. Sant Jarnail Singh Jee was born in the yesr 1947 on 12th February at village Rode of Faridkot. His mother name was Mata Nihal Kaur Jee and father Baba Joginder Singh.

Early life

At the age of 5 years, Sant Jarnail Singh Jee took Amrit. He was very much dedicated jarnailsinghjibhindrawalefor hid nitnem even in that young age. It became his aim for lifetime. Sant Jarnail Singh Jee were lived in Rode village till the age of 11. At there he recite 110 Jap Jee Sahibs and the Panj Granthi daily with his farming duties. Sant Jarnail Singh Jee had little education but he has a great memory. At his young age he remember many gurbani’s that includes Dakhani Oankar in 1 day, Sukhmani Sahib in 13 days, Sidh Gost in 1 day and Asa Di Vaar in 8 hours. Sant Jarnail Singh Jee also started meditation for 11 years.

Damdami Taksal

Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee Khalsa Bhindranwale was the jathedar of Damdami Taksal. He started tours in varioaus punjab vilagges and delivering sikh gurmat samagams. one day when sant jee arrived at Rode village he met Baba Joginder Singh jee. At that time he asked for his one son from seven sons. Baba Joginder Singh ji gave him a right to choose any of his son. Then Sant Ji chose Jarnail Singh who was his young son.After that time Jarnail Singh Ji started living with Sant Grbachan Singh Ji. Sant Jarnail Singh Jee was educated under the guyidance of sant Ji and becuse of his sharp memory he leart all Gurbani pronunciations and other sikh history. At the age of 19 , Sant ji got married to Bibi Pritam Kaur. The couple had two sons named Inderjeet Singh and Ishar Singh.

After the death of Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee Khalsa, Sant Kartar Singh Jee, Bhindranwale, was appointed as the Damdami Taksal Jathedar. Sant Jarnail Singh Jee was very close to Sant Kartar Singh Jee. They discuss all panth issues togther.unfortunatly In the year 1977, Sant Kartar Singh Jee was badly injurred in a serious car accident. He was admitted to hospital. Hospital staff ask for operation but operations needs to remove sant Ji’s hairs. But the graet sant jee refused for operation just to maintain sikhism. Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee told Baba Thakur Singh Jee to appoint the next Jathedar. Baba Thakur Singh Jee appointed Sant Jarnail Singh Jee as the jathedar of Damdami taksal.

Rise to popularity

After that time Sant Jarnail Singh Jee Khalsa Bhindrawale followed the previousjarnailsinghjibhindrawale1 12 jathedars footsteps.. He started visiting villages of Punjab and started Sikhism preaching. He asked peoples to live their lives according to Sikh rules and to take amrit pahul. For approx eight months, Sant Jee’s touring various villages which includes U.P, Calcutta, Bombay and other areas. In the year 1978 Sant Jee was about to start his next journey but a large gathering in Amritsar had announced by Nirankaris, in which they were trying to defame Sikh Guru’s.Then Sant Jee discussed this issue with Akhand Kirtani Jatha and Sant Jee send some representatives to protest peacefully. But the Nirankaris replied with gun fire at that time 13 Singhs were martyred and many others got injured.

In the year 1980 on 24th April the Gurbachan who was the Nirankari leader got assassinated. The Prime suspect found was Sant Jarnail Singh Jee.

Then in next year On 9 Sept, Lala Jagat Narain got assassinated. Then a warrant was issued to arrest Sant Jarnail Singh Jee. Sant Jee was arrested on 20th September 1981 for 25 days. He was remained in police custody and many questions on various issues had been asked from Sant Jee. But He was released because no evidence was found against him.

Dharam Yudh Morcha

In the year 1982 April a morcha was started to get amritsar “holy city”. At where many Sikhs along with Bhai Amrik singh ji were arrested . Then sant Jarnail Singh Ji started Dharam Yudh Morcha to get released the arrested sikhs in july 1982. This dharam yudh philosophy was also adopted by Siromani Akali Dal. It was declared that the morcha will continue until all demands would not fulfill of Anandpur sahib. About 40000 Sikhs were arrested in first 3 months of morcha. At that time government began to criminalize the sikhs through various propaganda which includes like Sikhs want to divide India, they are the enemies of Hindus etc. But Sant Jarnail Singh ji never support violence against any religion. He just want that every Hindu should be a true Hindu, every Muslim should be a true Muslim and likewise every Sikh, should be a true Sikh.

Operation Blustar

In the year 1983, Sant Jee heard from somewhere that the Governments plans to destruct the Sikhs and there was a possibility of an attack on Sri Harimandar Sahib. That news converted into reality when in June 1984, Indira Gandhi gave the approval for the Indian army to attack the Golden Temple complex and another 37 Gurdwaras.

It was reported by major officers that Sant Jarnail SIngh Ji was killed in this attack. A correspondent for Surya magazine named R.K. Bajaj claimed that he have seen Sant Jee’s photograph in custody, on the other side a Governmental doctor claimed that when captured,Sant Jee was alive.

For this the government refused of reports that Sant Ji was killed in police custody, Government and Army officials claim that they never released any videos, pictures or statements regarding the torture of Sant Jarnail Singh Jee Khalsa Bhindranwale.

The highligh point is before left Guru Nanak Niwas in the Darbar Sahib Complex, Sant Jarnail Singh Jee said that whatever happen there is not matter, everyone should follow the Sant Baba Thakur Singh’s bachan. For next 20 years Baba Thakur Singh asked to Sikh sangat that Sant Jarnail Singh Jee was not Shaheed and was just infact in Charrdeekalaa. Sant Thakur Jee said that Sant jarnail Singh Jee would return one day to re-start the Dharam Yudh Morcha.

Whatever your views, whatever your thoughts, Sant Jarnail Singh Jee Khalsa Bhindranwale is the most influential and prominent figure of the Sikh freedom movement.
